Job Description
Assists the Director of Risk Management & Chief Quality Officer in developing and implementing the quality improvement activities of the Quality Department specific to the requirements of governing regulatory agencies as well as effectively optimizes the quality of patient care and increases the efficacy of patient care delivery processes. Identifies quality issues within the department and initiates plans as needed. Reports to the Hospital QI Committee as appropriate. Manages both quality/risk events, barriers, and opportunities and reports up appropriately. Assists with chart audit functions as needed. Investigates adverse events for any trends, etc.
Assist in developing and implementing the quality of patient care and improvement activities within the Risk Management Department, assesses the quality of patient care, and increases the efficacy of patient care delivery processes. Identifies quality issues, barriers, near misses or harm related events and initiates plans as needed. Conducts investigational meetings, implements Root Cause Analysis processes when applicable for enhanced patient safety and optimized outcomes. Reports to the hospital QI Committee as appropriate. Assists with chart audit functions as needed. With the assistance of the QI Team, establishes action plans to improve patient outcomes and reports to the system Improve Committee when appropriate. Investigates adverse events for any trends as an action plan.
Conducts and collaborates with teams for Patient Safety Rounds. Ensures timely responses for follow up on action items.
Responsibilities include collecting relevant quality data, analyzing and assessing data, working with relevant stakeholders on disseminating data and information, benchmarking performance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve performance based on goals. This position collects and presents performance data to relevant oversight and governance groups. This position assists with regulatory/accreditation activities. This position also monitors and collates patient safety events in collaboration with the operational leaders and works with the Risk management department to facilitate event reviews and appropriate after review actions.
Assists with other duties related to the Quality Department as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree needed.
Experience:
7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
