Description Job Summary:

The Director of VIrtual Care is an experienced and successful virtual/telemedicine professional who is highly organized, detailed-oriented, analytical, proactive, and able to multi-task while leading a small team. They must possess a strong business and strategic thinking background as well as the ability to drive seamless execution across a large enterprise with diverse channels. They will also have an exceptionally strong presence, great communication and outstanding presentation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

Provides administrative oversight for the Telehealth Program. Manages the development, implementation, and administration of all technical operations, systems and infrastructure for the implementation and delivery of health-related services and information via telecommunications technologies. Works with internal and external contacts on behalf of the Telehealth Program. Plans, organizes, administers, reviews and evaluates the work of the Telehealth program to include but not limited to telemedicine, E-ICU and Hospital at Home. Supervises TeleHealth staff and is responsible for their selection, training, professional development and work evaluation. Performs strategic planning of the Telehealth program. Develop organizational structure and implementation plan for the Telehealth program. Manages the development, implementation, and administration of all technical operations, systems and infrastructure for implementing and delivering health-related services and information via telecommunications technologies. Proactively monitors performance, analyzes and reports trends while recommending and implementing adjustments to business direction and strategy Plan, develop, implement and sustain effective systems and programs that support Erlanger Health System’s branding objectives. This will be accomplished in a manner that optimizes the development, motivation, and direction of all staff toward fulfilling the overall vision.

Provides strong leadership and direction in establishing a regional telemedicine service that meets or exceeds national quality standards. Ensures compliance with hospital, DNV, and other regulatory authorities. In collaboration with system leadership, will assist in facilitation and coordination of system wide initiatives involving a regional telehealth service. Partners with physicians, nursing, other clinicians, and families to create a clear vision for the regional telehealth program. Develops a strategic plan that clarifies steps for implementing the vision, reflects an understanding of the regional telemedicine service market including threats, opportunities and industry trends, and positions the service line for success. Communicates the vision to internal and external constituents. Creates a culture of high clinical and professional standards, family centered care and service to referring physicians. Leads and facilitates the effort to integrate all aspects of a regional telehealth service, including those outside of direct reporting relationship, into a single comprehensive service line. Plans, organizes, develops, and implements operations to meet the needs of telehealth patients, their families, and physicians throughout the full continuum of care. Meets corporate and departmental goals while directing, coordinating, and developing policies, procedures, and processes for the telemedicine program. Supports the physician Directors of the telehealth programs in the continual development of the regional network of customers. Develops clinical experts to actively participate in telehealth activities for the program. In partnership with the Foundation, identifies extramural funding for new or expanded research, academic or clinical programs. Through the identification of grants and other funding, promotes research by physicians and other clinicians to create the next generation of techniques and technologies. Prepares and administers an annual expense budget, capital request budget, and human resource utilization plan for hospital services within the telemedicine program; participates in preparation and administration of EHS�s annual expense budget, capital request budget, and human resource plan for a regional telehealth service. Lead business plan development process for new programs and services. Promotes and builds strong professional and collegial relationships with Medical Staff, ancillary departments, and other internal and external partners. Provides support on administrative (contractual, legal, financial) matters for the regional telehealth service. Advocates for the needs of the telemedicine program with EHS, UT, and hospital administrations. Maintains regular contact with administration, management, staff, and multidisciplinary physicians, as well as departments that include Marketing, Nursing, Quality Improvement, and Finance. Develops and Maintains relationships with regional hospital affiliates and partners as it relates to the telehealth program.
