5048 Position Vacancy Announcement Florida A&M University’s Office of Equal Opportunity Programs announces the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity Programs vacancy. This position serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator and a key member of the Equal Opportunity Programs leadership team. This role is responsible for ensuring the institution’s compliance with Title IX and related federal and state regulations, promoting a safe and equitable campus environment. Responsibilities Serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, leading compliance efforts related to sexual harassment, sexual violence, pregnancy and parenting accommodations, and gender-based discrimination; Conduct impartial and thorough investigations facilitate informal and informal university proceedings, including Title IX live hearings; Interpret and apply Title IX regulations, institutional policies, and federal/state laws for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors; Develop and implement timely, trauma-informed supportive measures and accommodations for complainants, respondents, and witnesses, including pregnant and parenting individuals; Draft and issue official correspondence related to complaints, accommodations, resolutions, and outcomes; Develop and deliver engaging, compliant, and audience-specific Title IX training and education programs for students and employees; Conduct intake assessments for complaints under Title IX and Title VII, as appropriate, determining jurisdiction and next steps in the resolution process; Collaborate with key campus partners (e.g., Student Conduct, Housing and Residence Life, Campus Safety and Security, Victim Advocacy, Case Management, Human Resources, Legal Affairs, Athletics) to ensure coordinated, equitable, and prompt responses to reports of sexual misconduct and related concerns; Support University and

(Developmental Research School) responses to bias-related incidents and facilitate informal resolutions when appropriate; Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of special projects, reports, and initiatives in support of Equal Opportunity Programs and the broader Office of Compliance and Ethics; Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance, transparency, and reporting requirements; and perform administrative and operational functions as needed, including correspondence, case management, and other duties to support office efficiency. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience. Recommended Competencies Knowledge of applicable computer software and basic computer functions; Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology; Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; Ability to utilize problem solving skills; Ability to compile printing materials and visual aids for training; Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and, Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g., Law, Public Administration, Higher Education, Human Resources, or related discipline); At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in civil rights compliance, Title IX, student conduct, human resources, or related area; Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, Title VII, the Clery Act, VAWA, and related federal and state civil rights laws and regulations; Experience in conducting investigations or managing resolutions of complaints related to discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct; Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical skills, and conflict-resolution skills; Effective supervisory experience; and, Ability to work collaboratively across units with a high degree of professionalism and discretion. Pay Plan This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
