Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive student success strategies that address barriers to adult learner retention, graduation, and employment.
Oversee the creation and execution of individualized Workforce Readiness Plans (WRPs) to align student goals with academic and career pathways.
Provide high-level career guidance and ensure delivery of goal-setting and transition support services that reflect best practices in adult education and workforce development.
Manage and evaluate the FORGE (Focusing on Retention, Graduation & Employment) committee, driving initiatives to improve student retention and workforce placement outcomes.
Serve as the primary liaison between Adult Education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Non-Credit Training, and academic faculty to ensure aligned support for student progress.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal departments and external agencies to optimize resource coordination and student referrals.
Direct the planning and coordination of career pathway programs, including recruitment, training, and supervision of mentors for workforce students. Lead efforts to increase student engagement in career planning, co-enrollment, and transition to credit-bearing programs or workforce opportunities.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of college offerings and ensure students are equipped to navigate both credit and non-credit workforce pathways. Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting related to student success, progress tracking, and career workforce outcomes using the Alabama Adult Education System for Accountability and Performance (AAESAP).
Ensure accurate documentation of case notes, WRP reviews, referrals, and follow-ups to meet institutional and state reporting standards.
Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators to inform program improvement and strategic planning.
Provide leadership and mentorship to part-time Workforce Engagement Advisors, including training, performance evaluation, and ongoing support.
Deliver workshops on essential college and career readiness topics, such as financial literacy, problem-solving, and workforce preparation.
Maintain flexibility in scheduling to support both daytime, evening, and off-campus programs, ensuring equitable access to services.
Serve as a leadership presence in the Adult Education Program and classroom as needed, providing coverage and instructional continuity. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, required.
Degree in education, social work, social science, human science, or related field, preferred.
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferred.
Experience working with socially, economically, culturally, and/or financially disadvantaged populations, preferred.
