Job Description

Human Resources Coordinator Custom Synthetic Fibers 101 Jarvis Brewer Dr, Rogersville, AL 35652 Manage all human resources and plant safety functions in conjunction with corporate policies and/or guidelines and applicable state and federal laws. The HR and Safety Coordinator will report directly to the General Manager. This position will also be involved in training facility managers and hourly employees on new procedures, testing, and paperwork, while following Manufacturing processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Establishes/maintains communication with management staff Assists management staff in resolution of grievances Workers Compensation — Investigates all injuries, first aid, and near misses, and works with plant management to reduce all three Administers and processes FMLA requests Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and retention Maintains the accuracy and completeness of employee files and records Conducts investigations (harassment and/or discrimination) Recommends/administers discipline when warranted. Assists supervisors/plant management with disciplinary related issues Implements and administers compensation and benefits programs and policies Maintains compliance and be the in-house expert on all employment related matters Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation Develops/updates plant job descriptions Develops, updates, and administers plant rules, procedures, and policies. Ensures that all processes related to Health and Safety requirements for GRS procedures are complete. Updates monthly shift maps Participates in facility safety and plant meetings, including but not limited to: Safety Committee meetings, Accident Investigations, and other events Conducts assessments of current processes to identify or target problem areas, including development of JSAs Keeps affected employees abreast of OSHA requirements and changes while maintaining OSHA log and communicating accidents as needed Completes required audits and reports regarding safety compliance, working directly with management and supervisors as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with presentation skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at alt levels of the organization Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Exposure to and understanding of OSHA standards as they pertain to industrial hygiene, machine guarding, hearing conservation, and PPE Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to gather statistical information and relate this information to Plant Management and others by use of reports and/or presentations Strong supervisory and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Frequently required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Education/Training/Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field Experience in safety related field 5+ years of experience in Human Resources required Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment Experience supporting both salary and hourly workforces Must have exposure to workers’ compensation administration. Expert knowledge and understanding of employee benefit plans and leave administration Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management Strong working knowledge of core HR disciplines, systems and processes, organizational development, performance management, and employee engagement programs Proficient computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
