Full Job Description SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting data systems and processes in the HR Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: Provides assistance (onsite, telephone, and/or online) to district personnel. Develops, implements, and maintains record management procedures pertaining to employee personnel files, teacher certification, and on-the-job injury reports. Identifies and initiates resolutions to user problems and concerns. Approaches complex problems with a detail-oriented mindset. Assists employees with teacher certification and experience verifications. Keeps track of and meets relevant deadlines and project requirements pertaining to teacher certification and substitute licensing. Ensures the accuracy of data and records for teacher certification, substitute licensing, and employment verifications.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree is Preferred. At a minimum, must have a High School Diploma. Experience working with records and data management is

PREFERRED . TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Additional skills are required in various operating systems (Mac OS, Windows, Google).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents from the Alabama State Department of Education, procedural manuals, and other pertinent information pertaining to the position. Good communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate through both spoken and written discourse.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Experience with spreadsheet organization and functions required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Alabama Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee may move from one facility to another to resolve operating problems. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions for short periods of time. The employee must be extremely organized and able to collaborate and get along well with others.

Use the following information when requesting verification of experience from your past employment at other boards of education: Within the state of Alabama, experience must be verified on Supplement EXP Outside the state of Alabama, we must have a letter (on school district letterhead) or public school district form showing beginning and ending dates stating your years of service and position held while employed Credit is awarded for public school experience only, private, parochial, or similar experience will not be accepted Experience must be full time at least 50%-100% of the academic year Administrative credit will be awarded only for experience in the same position, i.e., principal for principal position as stated in the salary schedule

If you have sick leave from another state school system or from another state of Alabama agency, you must have a Sick Leave Transfer form sent from your previous employer to our Human Resources department
