Job Summary:
The HR Assistant provides essential support to the Human Resources team by maintaining accurate employee records, processing benefit billing, and managing leave-related communications and documentation. This role also assists with workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and HRIS data entry to ensure compliance, data integrity, and smooth departmental operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate employee files, records, and documentation in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Complete and audit monthly benefit billing; coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as the point of contact for FMLA and other leave-related inquiries, ensuring timely communication, tracking, and documentation.
- Enter and update employee data in the HR system (ADP) to maintain accurate records.
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and reporting, including coordinating with insurance providers and follow-up documentation.
- Respond to unemployment claims by gathering necessary documentation and submitting timely, accurate responses.
- Provide general clerical support to the HR department, including scanning, filing, and documentation preparation.
- Support ongoing HR projects and ensure data integrity across systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Understanding of basic HR laws and best practices
