POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION

AND REQUIREMENTS

This position plays a crucial role in supporting hurricane response efforts in Florida by overseeing and coordinating operations at designated sites including emergency shelters. The Site Supervisor/Asst. Site Supervisor will be responsible for managing personnel, resources, and activities to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of assistance to affected populations and response personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate daily operations at the assigned site, ensuring all activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. Supervise and manage site personnel, including staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper execution and completion of assignments. Coordinate the distribution of resources, including supplies, equipment, and personnel, to meet the needs of the affected population and response teams. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, regulations, and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel. Monitor site activities, identify any issues or challenges, and implement solutions to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with on-site personnel, external agencies, and stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on site activities. Maintain accurate records of site operations, including personnel, resources, and activities. Resolve conflicts and address any concerns or complaints from staff, volunteers, or those receiving assistance. Assist in the setup and breakdown of site facilities, including shelters, distribution centers, or command posts. Evaluate site operations and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:

Must possess prior experience as a Site Manager/Asst. Site Manager supporting disaster relief, emergency management, emergency shelter, or similar projects. Must possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Be prepared to deploy to disaster-affected areas, often with short notice.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
