Responsible for Human Resources transactional processes for over 600 departmental employees (A&P, USPS
OPS, FWS
) within the Campus Recreation Department. Creates job openings, initiates personnel actions, OPS express, staff job offers, assists new employees with onboarding, completes I-9 forms, submits supporting documentation to complete the hiring process and termination processes. Serves as the liaison to the Office of Human Resources. Coordinates position description updates and reclassifications. Enters and monitors FACET reporting for the department. Monitors and tracks the accuracy of employee actives report data and ensures correct appointments. Assists employees with obtaining appropriate security roles and access to University and facility systems. Maintains departmental personnel files for employee appointments, performance evaluations and personnel actions. Interprets, recommends and implements policies and procedures with Department Leadership and hiring supervisors to ensure adherence to federal, state, university, and college laws, rules, policies and best business practices. Responsible for ensuring sound HR administrative compliance. Serves as a resource for hiring managers/supervisors to ensure they have a complete understanding of the University policies and procedures. Guides and advises supervisors through the recruiting process. Provides communication support to Campus Rec professional and support staff on departmental and human resources procedures. Serves as subject matter expert on service excellence in Campus Recreation. Serves as the Time and Leave Coordinator for Campus Rec. Coordinates time entry and approvals for staff and OPS including the use of the departmental time clock import system. Troubleshoots and corrects any problems. Reviews biweekly payroll processing and payroll cost center report. Distributes and maintains Payroll Certifications. Serves as Travel Representative for designated units within Campus Rec. Responsible for travel authorizations and processes expense reports for staff, students and guest travel. Advises administration regarding the best travel methods ensuring compliance with travel policies. Follows up and resolves issues with the Travel Department. Manages related travel records. Serve as a back-up for P-Card Proxy. Oversees functions within the Campus Rec Administrative Office, maintains supplies and submits orders when needed. Participates in a variety of departmental and divisional events. Performs other duties that support the mission of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs as assigned.
