This individual will play a key role in recruiting and onboarding, supporting our company’s continued growth by ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for new employees. You’ll work closely with departments across the company—including marketing, executive leadership, and business development—to attract top talent and keep internal processes running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in human resources or recruiting. A background in the construction industry is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Onboarding Functions:
Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, from identifying staffing needs to sourcing candidates and scheduling interviews. Develop and post engaging job descriptions across job boards, social media, and recruitment channels. Assist with screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and evaluating candidates for cultural and skill fit. Help coordinate and attend job fairs and recruiting events to promote the company and connect with talent. Prepare offer letters and ensure all pre-hire paperwork and background checks are completed. Work with hiring managers to prepare new hire materials and facilitate a welcoming onboarding experience. Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding documentation, keeping internal systems updated.
HR Support Functions:
Assist with general HR tasks such as timesheet and PTO tracking, benefits administration, and employee support. Assist new and existing employees with health insurance enrollment and benefits-related questions. Help ensure superintendents have the necessary safety materials for their job sites and maintain documentation of employee OSHA certifications. Help maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies. Support employee engagement initiatives and internal events to foster a positive workplace culture. Provide assistance during employee disciplinary actions, investigations, or terminations when necessary. Collaborate with the HR team on continuous improvement of internal HR processes.
Qualifications:
Interest or experience in HR or recruiting (internships or part-time roles are a plus!). Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication. Friendly, flexible, and eager to learn in a collaborative team environment. Knowledge of employment laws is a bonus, but not required—we’re happy to teach the right person!
