Job Description

HR Assistant 1.0 1.0 out of 5 stars Gainesville, GA 30507 The HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting daily HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee communication, and maintaining personnel records. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, fluent in Spanish and English , and familiar with DOT regulations and driver qualification requirements . Key Responsibilities Assist in recruiting CDL and non-CDL drivers , equipment operators, and laborers in compliance with DOT and company requirements Conduct and coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring completion of all required paperwork and training Maintain and update driver qualification files and track compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies Serve as a bilingual point of contact between management and field employees to facilitate communication and resolve concerns Support timekeeping, benefits enrollment, and attendance tracking systems Coordinate pre-employment and random drug testing , background checks, and MVR reviews Maintain HR databases, digital files, and paper records in a secure and organized manner Assist with employee relations, documentation, and disciplinary tracking under the direction of the HR Manager Help promote and enforce a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture Qualifications Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English) – both written and verbal Prior HR experience preferred, especially in the construction, transportation, or roll-off services industry Working knowledge of DOT driver compliance requirements and recruiting practices Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or HR software (ADP, QuickBooks, etc.) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred Working Conditions Office environment with occasional visits to job sites or driver dispatch areas Regular use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment Must be able to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company
