The HR Assistant plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws while fostering a positive workplace culture throughout the facility. This role is based in a manufacturing facility and involves handling day-to-day HR tasks such as, leader of plant safety programs, recruitment, onboarding, administering employee development programs, completing UKG transactions, payroll processing, time and attendance tracking, benefits administration, employee engagement, and support of employee relations efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HR SUPPORT

Assist with full cycle recruitment efforts including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and pre-employment checks Support onboarding and orientation processes for new hires, including plant safety training coordination Coordinate employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, events, and employee surveys Maintain proper records of employee attendance, leaves of absence, and update employee records (hard copies as appropriate and uploading documents into UKG) Support HR in assigned project-based work, such as talent review and other employee development programs Training committee assistance with translation of trainings • Cintas uniform distribution and management • Maintain and electronically file documents in “UKG Documents” and handle confidential information such as FMLA Leave paperwork, in accordance with company policy and data protection laws Onsite benefits administration, and supporting employee relations efforts by assisting with workplace investigations under the guidance of the HR Manager Track employee attendance, leaves, and time-off requests using HRIS or timekeeping systems for payroll processing biweekly Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and payroll Prepare reports on HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and absenteeism Help ensure compliance with labor laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies Promote company health, wellness, and safety programs and initiatives. Monthly reporting of Safety data, including, but not limited to, Decide Safe, Near Miss, Comar Cares and STOP Observations. Coordinate and maintain phone lists, to include plant extension list Support HR-related training programs (e.g., harassment prevention, safety compliance) Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required 2 years of HR or administrative experience; manufacturing or industrial environment a plus Working knowledge of HR functions, employment law basics, and confidentiality standards Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Spanish- speaking proficiency is a plus. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk on the production floor. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or kneel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
