The Department Assistant is responsible for processing and documenting all invoices, requisitions, purchase orders. This position serves as the primary Kronos timekeeper for the department, coordinating with managers/supervisors to ensure accurate payroll processes. Provide key administrative support to the HR teams as needed, serving as backup to the Executive Assistant to the VP of HR and assisting the AVPs with calendar management as needed. This position will also serve as the first point of contact and primary information resource for all front desk phone and walk-in Human Resources inquiries including assisting with walk-in applicants applying for open positions or providing/verifying employment eligibility documents. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of and the ability to operate various standardized office equipment such as multiple line phone system, computer, fax machine, copier, etc. Knowledge of and ability to use various standardized word processing, database or spreadsheet preparation software Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with individuals internal and external to the organization in an effective, courteous, and professional manner General knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping. General knowledge of procurement and purchasing. Ability to multi-task in a diverse and busy work environment, while providing effective customer service to outside parties Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed Excellent grammar skills, and the ability to produce error-free correspondence and work products Ability to follow instructions and work independently in the completion of assigned tasks Ability to serve as a positive, contributing member of the Human Resources team Required Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent.
