The primary duties include initiating and tracking background check requirements for compliance with federal and Louisiana state laws. The HR Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Talent Acquisition and the Talent Acquisition Manager. Provides stellar customer service to enhance the candidate experience. Stays abreast of local, state, and federal hiring regulations. Provides exceptional customer service to all constituents while performing a variety of administrative duties. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of federal and state employment law. Ability to work independently in the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Ability to serve as a positive, contributing member of the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and remain flexible in the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications. Required Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree and one year clerical/office administrative experience OR High School Diploma/Equivalent and two years’ clerical/office administrative experience Preferred Qualifications Human Resources experience. Work experience in a higher education setting.
