Wayland Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized part time Human Resources Assistant to join our dedicated HR team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions to ensure efficient operations and exceptional service to our staff. This position plays a vital role in employee support, compliance, and program coordination across the district.

Key Responsibilities:
Course Reimbursements:

Process and track professional development course reimbursement requests, ensuring compliance with district policy. Leave of Absence (LOA)

Follow-Up:

Support the HR Manager in managing leave documentation and tracking return-to-work dates.

CORI & Fingerprinting Compliance:

Assist with processing CORI checks and ensuring fingerprinting requirements are met and recorded.

Staff Recognition:

Coordinate annual staff recognition initiatives, including service awards and retirement acknowledgments.

Employment Verifications:

Respond to employment verification requests in a timely and professional manner. Professional Development Points (PDP): Maintain PDP records for staff and assist with tracking licensure-related activities.

Co-Curricular and Summer Contracts:

Prepare, distribute, and collect signed contracts for co-curricular positions and summer employment.

Mentor/Mentee Program Support:

Assist with logistics, documentation, and communication for the district’s mentoring program.

New Teacher Orientation:

Help plan and execute a welcoming and informative orientation event for new educators. Invoices and Purchase Orders (PO): Process HR-related invoices and purchase orders in collaboration with the business office.

Mandated Training Oversight:

Support ARXED platform administration for mandatory staff training, including reminders and tracking completion.

Data Entry and filing:

Data entry into MUNIS, Records, and other platforms as needed, as well as other duties as defined by the

Superintendent Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred) Previous administrative or HR experience, preferably in a school district or public sector setting Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with MUNIS, TalentEd and Records (PowerSchool) systems is a plus
