Position Summary:
The HR Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, employee relations, and benefits administration. This role supports store managers and staff across multiple locations and helps maintain a positive, organized, and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews. Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper completion of required documentation. Assist store managers in hiring seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees. HR Administration Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records. Track employee time off, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews. Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (e.g.
FMLA, OSHA, EEO
). Employee Relations Support conflict resolution and promote a positive company culture. Handle employee complaints with discretion and professionalism. Guide managers and staff on company policies and procedures. Payroll & Benefits Support Work with payroll provider (e.g., ADP) to ensure timesheets are accurate and processed on time. Assist employees with questions related to pay, benefits, and company policies. Maintain benefit enrollment documentation and coordinate open enrollment periods. Training & Development Assist in developing training materials and company guidebooks. Help implement performance improvement plans when needed. Support safety training, store policy compliance, and company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in Human Resources or a related field (preferred). Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. High level of confidentiality and professionalism. Experience using payroll or HR software systems
ADP Preferred Traits:
Self-starter with a proactive attitude. Comfortable working across multiple locations and teams. Ability to adapt in a fast-growing, hands-on business environment.
