Develop and implement strategies to optimize scheduling processes, reducing staffing costs while maintaining or improving service levels. Analyze workforce data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in scheduling practices. Ensure that work schedules and actual working time comply with SCDC organizational policies. Monitor the scheduling system for potential violations and address them promptly. Work with HR and legal departments to implement changes in policies or regulations into the scheduling system. Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Identify business processes and procedures that require improvement and opportunities for optimization. Enforce policy as required. Develop and deliver training sessions and materials to educate managers and employees on the best practices for using the scheduling system. Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant supervisory experience. A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required supervisory experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).Six (6) years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include two (2) year of supervisory experience. A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above = 2 year). Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within Six (6) months of entry into the position.
