POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for thorough review of clinical documentation and diagnostic results applicable to extract data and appropriately apply ICD-10-CM/PCS and
CPT/HCPCS
codes and modifiers for billing and reimbursement, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. Interacts as needed with internal customers to include but not limited to hospital staff, physicians and their offices, and other revenue cycle team members. The Coding Student will be expected to meet all classwork, clinical, classroom simulation and any other requirements for the Coding Program.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education High School diploma or GED Minimum Experience N/A Required Registration/License/Certification AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) within a year of placement. AAPC Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) within a year of placement. Preferred Experience Healthcare experience Billing experience Other Requirements Demonstrate excellent organizational, computer, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate strong Microsoft Office knowledge skills. Strong time management and critical thinking skills.
