Process payroll with minimal errors.
Foster a good working relationship with the Union
Partner with leaders to develop work system improvements to raise employee engagement and positively impact business profitability
Recruit and on-board hourly and salaried employees, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring.
Ensure that human resources record retention is accurate and up to date based on the Records Retention Compliance Certification Process
Identify training and education needs, implement cost-effective delivery, and ensure processes are in place to sustain ongoing training and development efforts to meet training and education need
Educate, coach and counsel leaders and team members on job performance, employee development and diversity to build work teams who fully contribute to meeting or exceeding business goals
Ensure personnel decisions, policies, procedures and reporting requirements are in compliance with regulatory requirements
Promote and participate in the planning and implementation of communication strategies which deliver accurate, consistent and timely information on business issues and employee concerns
Identify and implement improvement opportunities for current processes and practices to enhance efficiencies and provide superior customer service.
Lead or provide support in workplace investigations
Ensures correct administration of FAA/DOT Alcohol and Drug program by overseeing random drug screening process and completing drug and alcohol drug testing verifications.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and third parties, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Creates and implements special projects as needed for the organization and/or requested by managers for special segments
Administer leaves of absences accordingly
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
At least 3 years of human resources experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience leading or participating in performance management, conducting investigations, policy management, recruitment, succession / workforce planning, employee engagement, and training and development
Experience processing payroll
Must be detail oriented
Must have strong computer experience using Microsoft Office and Excel
Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred
Requires effective communication and leadership skills
