Position Overview:
The People Operations Generalist plays a key role in enhancing the employee experience and supporting our organizational goals through effective HR programs and initiatives. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Talent Management Lead and mentor People Ops Coordinator, ensuring efficient administrative support across POps functions. Participate in Area Manager interviews with a focus on attracting talent in line with NSA Core Values. Partner with Recruitment and hiring managers to coordinate start dates. Deliver a seamless and engaging onboarding experience, including new hire orientation, paperwork processing, and compliance tasks. Provide ongoing manager training related to onboarding responsibilities. Employee Relations & Compliance Assist Area Managers & Regional Managers, providing counsel on conflict resolution, workplace issues, and policy interpretation. Lead or support investigations into employee concerns, ensuring fair, compliant, and timely resolutions. Manage the termination process as needed. Support employee engagement efforts to foster a positive workplace culture. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FLSA, ADA, EEO). Support the creation, revision, and rollout of People Operations policies. Partner cross-functionally to ensure policies are well understood and consistently applied. Data & Reporting Generate and analyze People Operations metrics including leaves, claims, terminations, and more. Present regular reports and insights into leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Leave of Absence & Workers’ Compensation FMLA Administration:
Manage all aspects of FMLA leave requests in compliance with federal and state laws. Act as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding eligibility, entitlements, and procedures.
Workers’ Compensation:
Oversee claims from initiation through resolution. Serve as liaison with employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and legal representatives. Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions. Performance Management Assist area managers in conducting performance reviews, setting employee goals, and delivering feedback. Maintain performance records and help identify trends and opportunities for development. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of experience in a Human Resources or People Operations role with direct experience in FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and employee relations. Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-stakes issues simultaneously. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Highly organized, deadline-driven, and effective collaborator. Proficiency in HRIS and other HR management software, specifically Dayforce. Work Environment This position is remote. Occasional travel will be required for training sessions, investigations, or meetings. Anticipated to be between 2-4 work trips per year.
