Human Resource Generalist Arkansas State University Three Rivers Malvern, AR 72104 P osition

Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations at Arkansas State University Three Rivers. This position provides comprehensive HR services across multiple areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance. The HR Generalist will work closely with faculty, staff, and leadership to foster a positive work environment that aligns with the university’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:

Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and facilitating new hire onboarding.

Employee Relations:

Serve as a point of contact for employees and management regarding HR-related issues, offering guidance on policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.

Performance Management:

Assist with performance evaluation processes, providing support to both employees and managers in setting goals and tracking progress.

Compliance and Policy:

Ensure university policies and procedures are adhered to in all HR activities. Stay current with employment laws and regulations, ensuring the university is in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Training and Development:

Assist with the coordination of training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities for staff and faculty.

HR Reporting and Data Management:

Maintain accurate HR records and assist with reporting and data analysis to support HR initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in an educational or academic environment. Knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Experience working within a university or higher education setting. Knowledge of academic labor relations.
