Job Description

Human Resource Specialist 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 1250 Grumman Pl Ste B, Titusville, FL 32780 Under the general direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the HR Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that our workforce is well-supported and compliant. The position oversees essential administrative functions including compliance, benefits, and employee support.

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED

Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED

SHRM or HR professional certification a plus.

EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

2+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare or hospice settings. Working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.). Experienced in employee benefits, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and retirement plans. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High emotional intelligence and empathy. Discretion with sensitive employee information. Ability to think critically and follow through on identified issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift, push, pull twenty (20) pounds without difficulty; able to work extended hours as required under various work environments and work under varying levels of stress.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance:

Maintain all employee personnel/medical files in an organized manner for easy retrieval. Collect/maintain required licensure, certifications, auto insurance, competency assessments, etc. ensuring compliance for all staff as required. Conduct quarterly audits of personnel files ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory and SFR requirements. Informs CHRO of any discrepancies and follows up with appropriate parties.

Benefits Administration:

Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, claims, eligibility and coverage options. Conduct benefit information sessions and provide guidance on employee benefits. Maintain records of employee benefit elections and collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and timely submissions. Conduct audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and align with invoices. Work closely with Finance for quarterly and year end benefits-related audits. Ensures compliance with all required COBRA Administers the company’s retirement plan, including enrollments, contributions, eligibility, loans, hardships and compliance with plan documents. Ensure timely distribution of required employee notices.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

Oversee the workers’ compensation process from reporting incidents to coordinating claims with the insurance provider. Serve as point of contact for employees on workers’ compensation issues, including claims and accommodations.
