Summary We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Children First Community Homes and Services. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our mission by managing HR functions that enhance our organizational culture and ensure compliance with regulations. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of the children we serve.

Job Summary:

The Human Resource (HR) Clerk supports the daily operations of the HR department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This role is responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with hiring processes, managing HR documents, and providing general support to the HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update employee records (digital and physical) Assist in the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, collecting documents, and coordinating onboarding activities Prepare employment verification letters and other HR-related correspondence Ensure all HR documents and processes comply with relevant labor laws and company policies File documents related to hiring, termination, benefits, and disciplinary actions Help process payroll changes, time-off requests, and attendance records as directed Track training completion and maintain compliance documentation Respond to employee inquiries and redirect issues to appropriate HR staff Assist with organizing HR events, trainings, and orientations Support with benefits enrollment and open enrollment processes Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and data entry

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred Previous clerical or administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources Familiarity with HRIS or other HR-related software is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

Compensation:
Pay Rate:

$15.00 – $19.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Eligible for overtime after 40 hours per week (if non-exempt) Performance-based reviews and wage increases Benefits may include paid time off, health insurance, and retirement contributions (as applicable)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods May need to lift or carry up to 25 lbs of files or supplies occasionally

Work Environment:
