As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist to support our mission of environmental stewardship through exceptional HR practices and talent acquisition strategies. Position Summary The Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities across all CBI locations. This role prepares and posts job descriptions, manages the applicant tracking system (ATS), engages in external outreach, and provides new hire orientation. Cross-trained in additional HR functions, this position supports organizational continuity and represents CBI’s values in every interaction. Key Responsibilities Lead the full recruitment lifecycle including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and conducting background checks, drug testing, and reference checks. Draft and manage job descriptions and advertisements aligned with CBI’s talent needs. Utilize and maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) to support recruitment documentation and communication. Attend career fairs and recruiting events; build partnerships with local and statewide schools, workforce development agencies, and community organizations to attract qualified candidates. Coordinate and co-deliver new hire orientation sessions, ensuring employees understand benefits, policies, and CBI’s culture. Schedule pre-employment physicals, fit-for-duty evaluations, and post-offer assessments to ensure safety compliance. Maintain secure and compliant employee records in accordance with legal and company standards. Support new hire benefits enrollment and respond to related inquiries during the onboarding period. Assist with internal communications, including the preparation of content for the monthly employee newsletter. Maintain the HR SharePoint site with up-to-date onboarding materials and HR resources. Assist with planning and execution of team-building and wellness events that support employee engagement. Provide monthly reports to management summarizing recruitment metrics and outreach activity. Cross-trained to assist in other HR functions when needed, supporting a cohesive and high-performing department. What We Are Looking For Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruiting, onboarding, or human resources support. Proven ability to write job postings, manage ATS platforms, and engage with external recruitment partners. Strong public speaking and networking skills; experience representing organizations at recruiting events preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS and ATS systems. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
