What we are looking for:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary HR Generalist to support our Human Resources function during a temporary leave of absence for 30-40 hours per week for the timeframe of June 2025 through approximately February of 2026. This role will be responsible for a range of HR tasks, with a focus on onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS updates (UKG), and compliance support. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and send offer letters and coordinate pre-employment background checks. Assist with new hire onboarding and offboarding processes. Update and maintain employee records in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group, formerly UltiPro) HRIS system. Support benefits enrollment and respond to employee benefits inquiries. Administer and track FMLA and other leave-of-absence cases. Ensure HR electronic files and documentation are organized and up to date. Assist with employee communications and respond to routine HR-related questions. Maintain compliance with employment laws and internal policies. Collaborate with payroll and other departments as needed to ensure accurate employee data.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar role. Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Hands-on experience with an HRIS system, preferably UKG. Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; strong document management and Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Qualifications Experience administering FMLA or other leave programs. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus. Experience with DocuSign is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work lifting no more than 10 pounds. Occasional lifting, carrying, and standing. Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate office equipment. Vision sufficient to read computer screens, reports, and related department documents. Dexterity to operate computer keyboards and other related office equipment. Endurance sufficient to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Frequent speech communication and hearing.
