Human Resources Generalist 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Orange Park, FL 32067 The NEEDS Center is a nonprofit company that provides services and support for adults with developmental disabilities. We are looking for an HR Generalist for our Florida Division in Orange Park. The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This position supports all aspects of HR, including recruitment, benefits administration, employee leave management, workers’ compensation, compliance, and the implementation of HR policies and procedures. The HR Generalist ensures that all activities align with legal requirements and organizational values.
Key Responsibilities:
Core HR Functions Administer and support HR programs, including benefits, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, safety, and performance management. Assist with the recruiting and hiring of qualified candidates for our Day Program and Group Residences. Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee recognition programs. Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating sensitive or complex matters appropriately. Participate in employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; regularly review and recommend updates to company policies and practices. Stay informed on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to ensure continued compliance and innovation. Talent Strategy & Collaboration Partner with department managers to identify hiring needs and define required skills and qualifications. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Administrative & General Support Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all personnel-related matters. Assist with HR-related special projects and administrative tasks as needed. Keep leadership informed of relevant issues and developments. Adhere to all organizational policies and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the NEEDS Center. Ensure the protection and security of employee and consumer information, including proper handling of electronic media.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS or related systems.
