POSITION SUMMARY

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing a range of HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the human resources manager in a supporting role. The position responsibilities include the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits, performance management including annual reviews, onboarding, termination, training, compliance, auditing, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS HR

generalist is responsible for building strong, responsive working relationships with the assigned business partners/locations Respond to employee and manager inquiries efficiently and correctly, following policy guidelines and processes to advise on all HR related matters including but not limited to: benefits, leave, discipline, performance, recognition, occupational health and safety Ability to issue spot when complex/sensitive matters require referral to the HR manager or director Update standard operating procedures, electronic forms, assists with HRIS audits and employee file management and maintenance Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, details of benefits plans and employment law to correctly interpret and apply in various, nuanced situations Coordinate administration for leave requests, FMLA, ADA accommodation, workers comp and unemployment claims. Ensure benefits premium arrangements, PTO and other benefits are adjusted in HRIS according to policy. Partner with the talent acquisition specialist to ensure a seamless onboarding process. Contribute as assigned to monthly invoice review. Participate in orientation activities and preparation as needed. Complete all compliance training and policy sign offs timely. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required. Must have at least two years of experience working in an HR department. Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to employment. SHRM Certified Professional (SRHM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) current certification preferred Health care industry knowledge a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Prior experience working in an HRIS and ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS. Paycor knowledge is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time. Ability to communicate in English. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal range. Ability to use hands, arms and legs within specifications of the job. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
