PURPOSE OF POSITION
: The Site Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting daily HR operations. Duties include employee relations, handling employee inquiries, and supporting HR Shared Services with payroll processing, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining a smooth and compliant workplace while ensuring employees feel supported. From handling payroll and benefits to fostering a positive culture, it’s a dynamic role that requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: As a key member of our HR team, the Site HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting human resources operations at our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for a broad range of HR functions, with a particular focus on fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance, and supporting the successful integration and development of our production workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Employee Relations & Compliance Conduct and participate in workplace investigations; prepare detailed investigation summary reports. Analyze findings to determine if company policies or employment laws have been violated and recommend appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions. Attend and provide HR support during disciplinary and performance-related meetings. Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and managers, escalating sensitive or complex matters as appropriate. Ensure employee records are accurately maintained and compliant with federal, state, and local laws, including I-9 employment verification in accordance with USCIS regulations. Onboarding & Workforce Integration Lead and coordinate onboarding activities for new production employees, ensuring a smooth and engaging introduction to the company, its policies, and culture. Prepare and send new-hire welcome emails and onboarding materials. Collaborate with production leadership to assess temporary employee performance and manage the process for converting high-performing temps into full-time employees. Ensure onboarding and conversion processes align with workforce planning needs and support long-term retention goals. HR Administration & Reporting Generate ad hoc HR reports to support data-driven decision-making. Maintain accurate records in the HRIS and provide support for audits and compliance reviews. Support the execution of company-wide HR initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of local HR practices. Policy & Process Development Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies that support our operational goals and reflect industry best practices. Collaborate with the broader HR team to ensure consistent policy interpretation and application across the organization. Other Duties Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Manager or VP of HR. Act as a cultural ambassador, helping to foster a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred. Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and associated systems. Familiarity with ADP and UKG a plus.
