Commensurate with experience Sun Ag LLC, located in Fellsmere, Florida, seeks a Human Resources Specialist to join their HR/Payroll Administrative Team. This candidate will ideally have knowledge and experience in Human Resources while also having knowledge in areas of Safety and Risk Management. This candidate must be able to multi-task and provide leadership and guidance to different leadership teams and departments within the company. The ideal candidate would have the following:
Educational Background Qualifications:
- College Degree/SHRM Certification preferred but minimum high school graduate
- Minimum of (3) to (5) years of HR related/similar experience in an office environment
- Agriculture and/or Construction industry experience a plus
Work Experience Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Must be a strong communicator in both in-person and telephone communication
- Familiar with U.S. Federal, State, and local employment laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations and reporting requirements
- Must have experience handling worker’s compensation claims

MS Office Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and disseminates Company Safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Conducts employee Safety training at multiple job-sites
- Maintains compliance with agriculture OSHA and WPS regulatory requirements
- Monitors Company regulatory compliance with Federal, State and local employment laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations
- Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies
- Onboards new hires (set up ads, reviews applications/resumes, interviews, new hire employment packages)
- Conducts background checks and MVR’s
- Uses E-Verify to ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Verification
- Maintains employee personnel files
- Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary actions and terminations
- Ensures compliance with Company Drug Free Workplace policy
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges
- Completes Auto/Equipment Accident Report Form and investigates cause
- Reports, investigates, maintains, and monitors all workers’ compensation case files; follows-up on open cases
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes
- Reviews and processes monthly employee benefits invoices for payment
- Performs other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works in normal office environment.
When conducting on site construction or agriculture location visits, potential exposure to equipment movement hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed.
