Competitive, Based on Experience SmileWorks Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics is a dynamic and rapidly growing pediatric dental and orthodontic specialty practice. We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our team and lead the human resources function with a strong emphasis on recruiting and talent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Staffing (50%) Manage full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles Develop effective sourcing strategies to attract top dental and orthodontic talent Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and onboarding processes HR Administration Maintain compliance with federal and Florida state employment laws Oversee benefits administration, employee relations, and HR policy implementation Manage HRIS data, performance evaluations, and personnel records Support employee engagement, retention, and training initiatives Workplace Culture & Compliance Ensure alignment with SmileWorks’ values and patient-first culture Mediate employee concerns and provide coaching to supervisors Lead documentation efforts for disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations
Qualifications:
5+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced, multi-provider medical or dental practice (40+ employees preferred) Proven track record of recruiting clinical and administrative roles Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Florida labor laws, and compliance requirements Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Experience with HRIS systems, onboarding platforms, and digital applicant tracking systems SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification strongly preferred Why SmileWorks?
