Job Summary
The Human Resources division plans and directs the development and administration of human resources strategy. Human Resources administers policies, programs, and benefits packages and is dedicated to researching and implementing new approaches and innovative practices in all areas of human resource management to help employees develop their full potential. The Human Resources Specialist position is a full-time, non-supervisory position reporting to the Manager of Human Resources. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in related field or four (4) years or more of direct experience in a Human Resources role Two (2) years or more of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment
Two (2) years or more of experience in managing and processing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills are required
Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite
Human Resources Certification (APHR and or PHR) or the ability to obtain a Human Resources Certification Organizational Values

Essential Functions

Provides excellent customer service to all in person, in email and over the phone; is approachable, helpful and personable; and answers questions knowledgeably and with patience
Manage and administers FMLA Manages the recruitment and overall employee life-cycle process for the agency using Applicant Tracking Software
Audits all aspects of the hiring and termination cycle and communicates findings Analyzes office needs to develop training programs Assists with coordinating organizational training and development efforts
Manages employee reward programs (such as Milestone, Cause for Applause, Employee of the Month & Annual Clerk’s Award Program)
Assists Manager of Human Resources with the excitation of the Milestone Luncheon Assists with Benefit Administration (medical, dental, LTD, Retirements plans, AFLAC, etc.)
Assists Manager of Human Resources with the Workers Compensation Program Assists in reviewing, creating and processing monthly and yearly invoices Conducts new employee orientation when needed Reviews and understands statutes, legislation, rules, regulations and policies
Understands and explains current HR policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations
Manages multiple tasks and projects with competing deadlines
Participates in cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned work
Maintains the confidentiality of pertinent personnel records Processes public records requests of personnel records in accordance with Chapter 119 Florida Statues, including processing applicable charges
Maintains confidentiality of information learned or acquired as part of the position which, if disclosed, might have an adverse internal effect or objectionable outside results
Possesses knowledge of HRIS database functions Maintains and updates Human Resource documents with accuracy and integrity regardless of format
Take the lead on special projects as requested
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
