A Chargeback Specialist job involves investigating and resolving credit card disputes, working to recover funds, and implementing measures to prevent future disputes and fraud. They are responsible for processing and reconciling vendor and customer disputes, maintaining documentation, and updating reports. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as knowledge of card association regulations and industry practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigating and Resolving Disputes:

Analyzing chargeback cases, gathering evidence, and working to resolve disputes in a timely manner.

Fraud Prevention:

Identifying patterns and trends in chargebacks to detect and prevent fraud.

Communication and Negotiation:

Communicating with merchants, card issuers, and cardholders to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintaining accurate records of chargebacks, disputes, and resolution efforts, and generating reports on chargeback trends.

Compliance:

Staying up-to-date on card association regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance.

Process Improvement:

Identifying areas for improvement in chargeback processes and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
