Job Summary Spearheads the administrative management and execution of Human Resource functions for FIU Online. The Manager, HR & People Experience oversees recruitment and selection, onboarding, training, employee and labor relations, and documentation administration. Leads and supervises the FIU Online People Team, this role collaborates closely to align the Team’s processes and activities with the strategic vision of the Senior Director, People & Programs and the Associate Vice President, FIU Online & Digital Experiences. Furthermore, the Manager partners with all supervisors within FIU Online to facilitate strong and proactive leadership in talent and performance management, individual professional development, and departmental organizational development. Additionally, this position provides administrative support and scheduling coordination for the FIU Online Leadership Team. Liaises directly with the Division of Human Resources for operational HR functions and alignment of the unit’s actions and documentation with established guidance and regulations. Manages recruitment and selection activities on behalf of the Department from position review to posting, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding. Oversees search and screen processes, manages candidate communications, and assures compliance in interviewing and selection processes with applicable regulations and guidelines. Collaborates with the Division of Human Resources or Academic Affairs on all immigration related matters as they occur. Serves as a proactive consultant for FIU Online leadership to facilitate promotion, transfer, or reclassification actions where justified and appropriate in accordance with University policies and workforce development guidelines. Manages salary actions in accordance with university policy and in consultation with the FIU Online Director, Finance and Compliance and FIU HR Compensation Administration. Oversees the completion and reconciliation of time off and payroll submissions for each pay period. Serves as a Procard User for departmental transactions. Assures compliance and adherence to university credit card policies and procedures. Supervises the FIU Online onboarding process for all new employees. Collaborates with supervisors and FIU Online leadership to engineer and implement onboarding schedules, assuring new employees are smoothly onboarded with appropriate tools, resources, information, and expectations on arrival in the department. Serves as a trusted advisor to supervisors and managers on performance management and employee relations issues, feedback processes, and the implementation of the University Performance Excellence Process (PEP) within the department. Implements and oversees compliance with the Department and University FlexWork policy. Supports implementation of applications and data systems for departmental human resources management, communication, and knowledge management including BambooHR, SparkHire, Guru, Slack, and other related systems. Identifies and designs human resource projects aligned with the AVP and Director’s goals for professional development and organizational capacity development within the department. Ensures human resource related forms, reports, processes, and audits are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with university, local, state, and federal guidelines. Manages recordkeeping in accordance with established retention schedules and regulations. Assists with establishing policies and procedures for human resources functions and issues within the unit. Makes recommendations to the Director and AVP for the unit. Supervises the FIU Online People Team. Provides administrative support and oversees activities relating to the

Online and Digital Experiences, and the executive team offices daily operations. Oversees the management of the AVP and/or FIU Online Executive Team members calendars as assigned, and coordinates with other support staff who manage associated calendars by analyzing appointment requests and determining the most efficient use of their time. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and four (4) years related business or administrative experience, or Master’s degree in business or related field and two (2) years related business or administrative experience. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices. Experience supervising a team or a project. Experience in a human resources setting within higher education.
