Full Job Description Description:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting and supporting the Human Resources Manager in all facets of human resources including staffing, training, employee relations, benefits and human resources administration for all ministries. Consults with managers to provide guidance in managers’ roles of leading people, including coaching, talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, and HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

Job Responsibilities Staffing:

Responsible for recruiting, onboarding and offboarding. Perform new employee orientation to fosterpositive attitude toward Organization values. Insure that new employee documentation is complete and accurate. Conduct Benefit Orientation and answer any benefit questions. Conduct exit interviews. Prepare and process exit interview notes, notify appropriate personnel of terminations, and provide appropriate information to terminated employees.

Training:

Assist in training initiatives to include annual refreshers and Benefits Open Enrollment. Coach supervisors and managers in effective employee performance management.

Benefits:

Assist in Benefits Enrollment, assist employees with questions related to their benefits.

Employee Relations:

Provide advice and counsel on Human Resources issues to employees and supervisors,ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent amongst organization. Assist employees, supervisors and managers in various employee relation issues by doing intake of the issue, researching any necessary information, soliciting any necessary resources or experts and then resolving the issue at hand. Coordinateemployee relations solutions with Human Resources Manager to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.

HR Administration:

Partner with HR Manager and Chief Financial Officer to apply knowledge of legal requirements related to employment decisions, reducing legal risks, and ensuring compliance.

Employee Engagement:

Assist with employee reward and recognition programs. Other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience. Three to five years of progressive experience in Human Resources.

PHR/SHRM-CP

a plus. Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (Paylocity preferred). Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to understand, communicate, and interpret company policies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
