12 Months Thisrole is part-time and is 15-20 hours/week.
Job Description:
- TheCoordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, andoverseeing all activities relevant to the Finger Lakes Youth Forum(FLYF).
- FLYF is a space created by students and for students toengage in productive conversations on complex topics that mattermost to them.
- The Coordinator partners with local high schools(Client-Painted Post, Client-Painted Post High School LearningCenter, and Elmira City Schools) to identify and train studentleaders to facilitate meaningful conversations with their peers
- Primary responsibilities include program development, eventcoordination, recruitment of participants, and monitoring programoutcomes.
- The ideal candidate is an organized, innovative, andpassionate individual with strong communication and leadershipskills, dedicated to empowering and amplifying youth voices.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and develop student leaders.
- Coach student leaders to design and implement engaging forums.
- Coordinate ongoing training for student leaders.
- Buildrelationships with local schools, organizations, and stakeholders
- Monitor program effectiveness and prepare reports on outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops and other forms of ongoing professionallearning experiences for educators.
- Co-facilitate restorativemeetings with district staff to support student’s social-emotionalgrowth.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Demonstratedexperience in program coordination or youth-focused initiatives.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Passion for working with youth and supporting their civicengagement skills.
- Must be available during school hours.
