Job Summary This position has responsibility for performing detailed accounting and analysis functions for payroll, benefits and other Human Resources operations for Georgia Gwinnett College. Also responsible for maintaining payroll and benefit general ledger liability/receivable accounts and the reconciliation, analysis and accuracy of accounts, as well as the administration of all required payroll processing actions under a centralized concept. Responsibilities 1

  • Responsible for full-cycle processing of the third-party vendor health and welfare accounts to include automated journals for entry into the college general ledger. 2
  • Performs in-depth analysis and research.

Provides detailed employee payroll/benefits information to the Associate Director, HR Benefits and Compliance for payroll adjustments review/processing. Monitors benefit enrollment issues and benefits amount deviations, collaborates with the HR Benefits Specialist, and calculates and reconciles amounts due to respective vendors. Provides monthly input on erroneous benefit payments. 3

  • Responsible for detailed data analysis on all payments for each employee and provides monthly input on erroneous third-party vendor benefit payments for review by the Associate Director prior to submission to Shared Services Center for account adjustments 4
  • Performs pre-reconciliation of school-specific liability accounts, analyzes data providing feedback on possible errors, and prepares payment requests for Accounts Payable processing. 5
  • Responsible for data preparation for quarterly reviews and audits by performing in-depth analysis, providing requested reports, reconciliations, detailed supporting documentation, or other information as required. 6
  • Conducts specific payroll/benefits audits and reports any related findings to the Associate Director. 7
  • Generates data and reports on employee deductions and contributions to be used for analytical output for external audit requirements. 8
  • Provides support to the overall functions of Human Resources, particularly benefits and compliance issues, which may include time and labor, payroll reviews, and other related requirements in addition to special projects and reports needed by the Associate Director. 9
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree Two years of experience in accounting with responsibility for multiple liability account reconciliation/analysis. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and automated payroll/benefits system in a Shared Services centralized environment. Solid knowledge of accounting and ability to reconcile and provide detailed analysis of assigned accounts
