Job Summary The University of North Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven HR Coordinator who provides essential support for a range of human resource information systems functions, including employment transactions, position data management and special employment programs. Responsibilities Process new and rehired faculty, staff and students. Process existing employee changes such as terminations, retirements, pay rate changes, job reclassifications, status changes, leave of absences, and others actions. Process job data and department budget table entries of Multiple Components of Pay (MCOP) for all defined term supplemental payments. Update and maintain time and labor setup, assign work schedules. During payroll processing work closely with the payroll department to identify and resolve payroll processing errors.
Oversee the entire special employment process for dual appointments, eCore faculty and other special programs. This includes assigning onboarding packets and facilitating completion of criminal history/education background checks as needed. Serve as the UNG Dual Appointment Coordinator processing Dual Appointment Agreement Forms, obtaining required signatures, determining benefit eligibility status, completing check requests, invoices and journal entries.
Create and review new and existing positions, set up position funding. Track vacant, filled and budget approved positions and work closely with Talent Acquisition and Compensation/Classification on position postings. Work with UNG Budget Office and Compensation/Classification personnel on yearly budget requests for new and reclassified positions, managing associated HCM changes and updates.
Assist employees and departments with onboarding and off-boarding. Act as authorized representative to complete Form I-9 and E-Verify.
Monitor the HRIS inbox and respond to questions and requests. Research and resolve tickets created in ServiceNow by the OneUSG Support Help Desk and promptly respond to inquiries by the UNG Identity & Access team.
Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and HR database systems.
Capable of working independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal, and overall communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willing to work nights and weekends as needed to meet deadlines. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years experience in Human Resources. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education preferred.
