The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources department and contributes to a positive employee experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle. This position is responsible for managing a variety of HR processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations support, policy compliance, HRIS maintenance, and leave of absence coordination. The HR Generalist acts as a resource to both employees and managers, ensuring consistent application of company policies and providing timely, professional HR support across the organization. This position reports directly to the VP of People Operations & Strategic Initiatives and collaborates closely with leadership and department heads to support company goals, promote an inclusive workplace culture, and help drive strategic HR initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:

Support benefit enrollments and terminations in carrier portals, monitor EDI file feeds for issues, assist with COBRA and QLE submissions, and help prepare for open enrollment. Provide 401(k) support as needed.

Employee Relations:

Help address employee concerns, assist with investigations, and support culture and engagement efforts. Respond to HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping questions.

HRIS Management:

Maintain accurate employee data and assist with system administration tasks in our HRIS, Paycom.

Leave Administration:

Track and manage leaves of absence (FMLA, parental leave, disability, etc.) in compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Payroll Support:

Assist with bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing—run reports, audit files, calculate wages/deductions, and help resolve errors to ensure accurate and timely payroll.

Reporting & Auditing:

Assist with compliance, payroll, benefits, and tax reporting. Support internal audits of HR, payroll, and benefits data as needed.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

Support full-cycle recruiting, including posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding and offboarding.

Time Management:

Process time off and punch change requests and support related employee inquiries.

Other Duties:

Participate in other HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of HR experience, ideally in a generalist capacity. Strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.). Experience processing payroll accurately and on time, with a solid understanding of wage calculations, deductions, and payroll compliance requirements. Experience working with an HRIS system. (Paycom experience is a plus!) Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively. aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification is a plus!

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, primarily working at a computer. Frequent communication is required; must be able to exchange information clearly and effectively through phone, video conferencing, and email. Occasionally required to move or lift items up to 15 pounds. This is a remote position; the employee must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace suitable for confidential conversations and daily responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position offers an annual salary range of $52,000.00 to $58,000.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, the employee has the ability to earn quarterly bonuses based on individual productivity and the successful completion of mutually agreed-upon quarterly projects. Eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, and supplementary insurance coverage on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. 401(k) with a company match. Eligible to participate in the 401(k) on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Paid vacation, personal, and sick time.
