HR Generalist Working closely with the PEO, The PT HR Generalist will be responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with personnel policies and procedures, provide meaningful and accurate advice and support to management and staff, recruit and onboard new staff and administer payroll. The PT HR Generalist will assist the Leadership team to maintain best human resource practices and a mission-driven, positive culture.

Director of Finance and Director of Support Services Hours:
20-25 per week; In person Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (generally 8:30am-4:30pm)
Pay Range:
$33.00-36.00 per hour
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the liaison to the PEO co-employer for payroll, hiring, terminations, leaves, unemployment claims, legal issues and training and development as needed. Administer HR policies and programs, such as benefits administration to include Open Enrollment, employee handbook update; best practices for HR procedures. Educate new managers on HR processes. Provide training opportunities to managing staff on management techniques. Post open positions internally and externally; maintain personnel records; review and submit all personnel actions into the system; coordinate new hire paperwork including I-9, background checks and driving records. Manage timesheet system; review submitted hours to budget; ensure timely payroll uploading and approval. Oversee administration of 401(k) plan; ensure compliance in collaboration with third party administrator. With the help of the Leadership team, responsible for scheduling and planning All Staff meetings. Coordinate trainings such as Harassment, CPR/First Aid. Organize annual performance review process; collect signed reviews and job descriptions. Publish monthly headcount reports. Update emergency contact and email lists. Coordinate and participate in New Hire Orientation. Monitor and report on monthly HR KPI’s. Approve HR related vendor invoices for payment. Coordinate intern inquiries and paperwork. Back up to Volunteer Coordinator for CORI verifications and CORI requests
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
4-5 years as an HR Generalist Non profit experience preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience
Software:
Microsoft Office, HRIS, Payroll Administration Successful CORI and background check
Physical Demands:
Job requires regular sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, writing, and carrying children and babies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, implements or office equipment; talk and hear; stand and walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel. Employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to move toys or light furniture.
