We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions including payroll processing, benefits and 401(k) administration, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a thorough understanding of HR best practices and a commitment to delivering excellent service to employees. Job Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll using iSolved, including running/distributing management reports and addressing payroll-related inquiries Review and process all supplemental payrolls such as bonuses and reimbursements Process employee pay changes, including updates related to 401(k) contributions and other compensation adjustments Enter and manage payroll deductions such as car allowances, miscellaneous deductions, child support, and tax levies Administer wage garnishments, including responding to Department of Revenue (DOR) questionnaires and generating required wage reports Review and verify timecard submissions across all company branches (8 locations across MA, NH, VT, and ME) to ensure accurate payroll processing Support employees by responding to payroll and HR-related inquiries via email, phone, and in-person visits Prepare and process final paychecks and related documentation for terminated employees, ensuring accurate calculation of hours worked and accrued vacation time Benefits / 401(k) Administration Process and manage short-term disability and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) claims Serve as the primary contact for all 401(k) account activity and employee inquiries Review and approve 401(k) loan requests and termination/distribution paperwork Reconcile and submit weekly contributions, company match, and loan repayments via data feed to Empower Employee SupportHR Operations Complete incoming verifications of employment for current and former employees (e.g., for loans, employment history, drug and alcohol testing) Support managers with employee relations issues and concerns Act as a resource for safety-related incidents and accidents when needed ComplianceAudits Assist with annual audits: Workers’ Compensation; 401(k) Plan Project Management Support our Paylocity implementation project as directed by HR Manager and Implementation Project Team by being a key collaborator, administrative support, and employee resource Help shape the outlook for the next 1-5 years of our HR Dept. project plans by collaborating with HR Manager on areas of personal/professional interest, departmental needs, and industry/market trends Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a generalist HR role, including payroll and benefits administration Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (e.g., iSolved, Paylocity, etc.) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field Experience supporting multi-state operations in New England region Familiarity with Empower Retirement; iSolved; Paylocity; Microsoft 365 Suite Experience participating in or managing the implementation and setup of an HRIS system Bilingual skills a plus (Spanish, French, etc.) Previous HRIS implementation project management experience a plus What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package 401(k) with company match PTO and paid holidays Professional development opportunities A supportive and inclusive team environment Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
