Human Resources Generalist Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and executing core HR functions including caregiver onboarding and compliance, performance management, employee relations, regulatory adherence, and overall HR operations. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable in HR best practices, and committed to fostering a compliant, productive, and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Caregiver (CG) Compliance & Regulatory Approvals Coordinate and track CORI, SORI, and OIG background checks Manage TB screening process and ensure timely completion Maintain compliance with MassHealth and regulatory bodies 2. Hiring and Onboarding Facilitate completion and proper documentation of I-9, W-4, and W-9 forms Oversee caregiver and staff onboarding, including physicals, background checks, and required screenings Ensure all onboarding documents are accurate and submitted in a timely manner 3. Training and Development Manage initial and ongoing employee training requirements Maintain training records and ensure staff remain compliant with mandatory sessions Coordinate with department leads to schedule trainings and track completion 4. Monthly & Ongoing Compliance Monitoring Conduct monthly OIG exclusion checks for all active staff Update and maintain caregiver information in the Provider Portal on ICentrix 6. Performance Management Coordinate performance evaluations in partnership with supervisors Support goal-setting, tracking, and development plans for staff 7. Employee Relations & Culture Reinforce company culture through employee engagement initiatives Mediate disputes and facilitate resolution strategies Coordinate disciplinary actions with management in line with policy 8. Employment Lifecycle Coordination Facilitate smooth employee offboarding, including exit interviews and final documentation Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and files 9. Talent Acquisition Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs Source, screen, and recommend candidates for open positions Participate in recruitment marketing and community outreach efforts 10. HR Strategy & Legal Compliance Ensure HR policies are aligned with state, federal, and industry regulations Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and retention Stay current on HR laws and best practices affecting the organization 11. Communication & Reporting Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees Distribute employee surveys and analyze feedback to support organizational improvement Prepare internal HR reports, run quarterly meetings and assist in audits as needed
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred) 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare or human services Knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws and healthcare compliance requirements Proficiency with HRIS systems; experience with ICentrix a plus Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
