Overview:

The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources department with various tasks related to recruiting, payroll processing, and HR operations. This role requires a proactive approach to HR processes and policies to enhance employee experience and contribute to the overall efficiency of the HR department.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process. Partner with hiring managers and department heads to understand staffing requirements, job specifications, and organizational needs. Develop and execute effective recruitment plans and workflows to meet hiring goals and timelines. Utilize various recruitment channels and strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates. Manage candidate pipelines and applicant tracking through the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring timely communication and follow-up. Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit. Coordinate interview schedules, facilitate candidate evaluations, and gather feedback to make informed hiring decisions. Manage candidate expectations and deliver a positive candidate experience that reflects the organization’s values and commitment to professionalism. Conduct post-interview debriefs and follow-ups to communicate hiring decisions and gather candidate feedback.

Payroll Processing back-up:

Collect, verify, and process payroll data for employees, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Calculate wages and overtime hours, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payroll policies and procedures. Prepare payroll direct deposits on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis. Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding wages, deductions, benefits, and payroll taxes.

HR Administration:

Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, including personnel files, HRIS, and payroll records.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with the preparation of payroll tax returns, W-2 forms, and other statutory reports to regulatory agencies. Assist with audits and internal reviews related to payroll and HR processes, maintaining accurate documentation and records.

Employee Relations:

Promote a positive work environment by fostering effective communication and supporting employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in a generalist HR role. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience as an HR Generalist, Payroll Specialist, or similar role. Proficiency in HRIS systems. Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and benefits administration. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
