Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws
- Perform data entry, analysis, and reporting for payroll, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Serve as benefits coordinator for retirees; reconcile employee benefits billing and manage supplemental invoicing
- Collaborate with Risk Management to ensure accurate and timely reporting of workplace incidents and accidents
- Assist in planning and executing employee engagement events
- Conduct internal and external surveys, respond to sunshine law requests, and compile relevant data
- Support full-cycle off boarding efforts including final pays, coordinating exit meetings, system deactivation and other off boarding task as assigned
- Assist with HR compliance initiatives to ensure alignment with employment regulations and policies
- Provide guidance and technical support on personnel policies to employees, managers, union representatives, and applicants
- Coordinate Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting
- Manage special projects and assignments from the HR Director
- Respond to employee and retiree questions regarding benefits and employment policies
- Attend professional development events, conferences, and training as relevant
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety practices in daily work activities.
Minimum Training and Experience
- Associates degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; a Bachelors degree is preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in a human resources role; public sector or government experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and administrative abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other HRIS systems.
