Purpose:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the Mississippi Plant by implementing and managing HR initiatives that drive a positive, high-performance workplace culture. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role partners with plant leadership to deliver effective HR solutions in staffing, performance management, employee relations, training, compliance, and engagement. This position plays a hands-on role in supporting both the daily operations and long-term HR strategy to meet plant and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Lead full cycle recruiting and onboarding processes to meet staffing requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with local recruiting sources and promote the employer brand. Performance & Development Administer performance management programs; support leaders in setting goals and delivering feedback. Collaborate with corporate HR to support employee training and development initiatives. Assist in the creation and facilitation of training materials and programs tailored to plant needs. Serve as point of contact for Learning Management System (LMS) needs including reporting, updating records, troubleshooting issues, etc. Compensation & Benefits Assist in administering compensation and benefits programs in coordination with corporate HR. Monitor local market trends to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices. Employee Relations & Engagement Foster an inclusive and productive work environment focused on quality, EHS, and continuous improvement. Promote a union-free environment through open communication, proactive issue resolution, and employee engagement. Support employee wellness and recognition initiatives; lead plant events and appreciation programs. Lead community engagement and relations activities. Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company employment regulations and policies. Support Affirmative Action planning and reporting requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with JSOX and company standards. Continuous Improvement & Culture Research HR best practices and bring forward ideas to improve plant processes and employee experience. Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers, promoting open communication and problem-solving. Participate in HR audits and support implementation of corrective actions as needed. Continually seek ways to improve performance of our plant’s operation and ensure that your customers’ (both internal and external) needs are met Support Zeon’s Integrated Management System and adhere to ISO standards 9001, 14001 and 45001.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment) is required. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant HR experience with demonstrated success in core HR functions is required. Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment law is required. Experience with JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) and ISO Standards is preferred. Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization is required. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

Work Conditions:

Office environment within a chemical complex with some walking in the plant facility.
