Hotel Controller – Human Resources 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Jackson, MS We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented hotel accounting expert with strong leadership skills to be our hotel’s next controller/HR. This position must focus on the bottom line by monitoring internal control systems and making necessary changes to ensure profitability. You will be in charge of payroll processing, monthly forecasting, reconciling general ledger accounts, and creating an annual budget. You should have a bachelor’s degree in finance and at least three years of experience managing a team, preferably in the hospitality industry. if you are looking for an exciting new role overseeing daily accounting operations plus some basic HR duties at our busy hotel!
Responsibilities:
Support the daily accounting operations with the creation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets Increase profitability by evaluating balance sheets, income, expense accounts, and recommended adjustments while preserving accuracy Review the daily revenue activity list to ensure accountability, reconcile general ledger accounts, review any account discrepancies, and make corrections Conduct monthly payroll audits and issue paychecks Effectively monitor and track all accounts receivable, while also creating and controlling accounts payable invoicing
Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of previous work in hospitality, preferably in a full-service hotel Must be well-versed in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent; degree in finance or related field is strongly preferred Superior customer service skills, math skills, relationship skills, and communication skills are preferred Hotel, hospitality or simialr industry experience HR experience About Company Our hotel is off I-55 and Highway 51, in Jackson’s business district. A variety of shops and restaurants are within a half-mile, and we’re nine miles from downtown Jackson. Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum are less than 15 minutes away.
