About This Opportunity Brunswick County is seeking a collaborative, proactive, and knowledgeable Human Resources professional to join our Human Resources team! The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a point of contact for HR-related matters. The successful candidate will perform a variety of professional and administrative HR functions, which may include recruitment and selection, employee relations, employment law compliance, leave administration, organizational training and development, and provide general support to staff at all levels. This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to supporting a diverse workforce. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration, public administration, organizational development, business administration, or related field, and at least two (2) years of responsible human resources experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices related to human resources required. Must be proficient in a variety of software and systems applications or be technically oriented with the ability to learn. Human resources experience in local government preferred. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification desirable. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, typewriters, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert 10 to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
