Job Description
Plant HR Coordinator – Conover, NC 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 214 Conover Blvd E, Conover, NC 28613 The HR Coordinator will have the primary responsibility for the day-to-day administration of human resource functions in the plant. The HR Coordinator is responsible for duties including but not limited to the following functional areas: HR department organization, employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, compensation, performance management, disciplinary counseling, staffing and payroll responsibilities. The position reports directly to the HR Manager and Regional HR Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Oversees temporary labor staffing including managing the day-to-day needs of the facility as well as tracking trends and maintaining a spreadsheet of activity. Attendance tracking. Employee orientation, development and training logistics and recordkeeping Assists and addresses employee relation issues. Plant-wide communication – announcements, postings. Compensation, benefits administration and recordkeeping. Assists in employee safety, wellness and health reporting. Maintains organize employee files and an effective HR department filing system. Manages hourly employee appraisal process in timely manner. Schedules new hire interviews. Reviews payroll weekly for accuracy. Updates Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) as necessary. Manages I-9’s – responsible for ensuring all I-9 related documentation is verified and completed in full at the start of employment. All I-9’s and supporting documentation must be filed in HR. Manages application logs – responsible for ensuring all incoming applications are in database. Manages turnover logs – responsible for ensuring all position changes or employee terminations are placed in log. Participates in monthly HR divisional conference call. Participates on project teams for plant and/or division-wide HR initiatives. Supports active administration of company policies and procedures and maintenance of employee files and records. Fields questions and provides feedback/information based on requests from plant management and employees. Maintains accurate documentation and records for all employee matters. Counsels employees on applicable company rules and state and federal laws pertinent to employee relations activities. Makes recommendations, design and implement new programs and policies for the plant. Creates/develops, implements, manages, and coordinates internal and external training and development programs. Supports the Performance Management including ensuring completion deadlines are met. Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization, both management and employees. Undertakes and performs special projects and assignments as assigned. Provides other assistance to the HR Manager, General Manager, and Regional HR Director as requested. Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions. Perform all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties. This position will help keep department in specs within all 5S and SQF guidelines, and immediately report any food safety concerns to management. Willing to work flexible hours as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
G.E.D. 7 – 10
years of progressively more responsible positions in human resources. Strong effective communicator in writing and interpersonal communication. Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills. Experience in organization development and change management. Experience in employment law and employee relations and communication. Familiarity and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer based tools to accomplish objectives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective judgment and ability to handle and maintain confidential information. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Interpersonal flexibility. Strong ability to multitask and manage a variety of issues/projects simultaneously. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to see/read a computer and work via telephone.
