Full Job Description Position Summary:

St. Peter’s Church is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support the full scope of Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training initiatives. This role plays a key part in fostering a supportive and faith-aligned workplace culture that reflects the values of St. Peter’s.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff in collaboration with department leaders. Facilitate onboarding processes and orientation for new hires. Support HR policy development and ensure compliance with employment laws and church guidelines. Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs. Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files. Assist with performance review processes and employee development initiatives. Address employee concerns and support conflict resolution with care and discretion. Promote a positive workplace culture grounded in the mission and values of St. Peter’s. Coordinate employee recognition and engagement programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and church standards. Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 2+ years of experience in a generalist HR role preferred. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Familiarity with faith-based organizational environments a plus.
