JOB OVERVIEW
The HR Generalist will be responsible for the daily management of human resources operations. Applicant will organize training programs, policy administration, hiring procedures and other administrative tasks, to include those outlined below, in support of the human resources department. Among other duties, the HR Generalist is responsible for employee data, coordinating employee benefits and incentives, assisting in the management of hiring practices and conducting on-boarding and termination/separation for all employees. Applicant must have diverse capabilities in the field and a working knowledge of a wide range of human resources issues and regulatory requirements to ensure proper handling of core administrative and strategic responsibilities within the department.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile, organize and maintain hard and soft copies of detailed employee records and maintain employee database. Work with the finance department to manage payroll and employee benefits, including bonuses, leaves, and conduct absences administration Ensure accurate initial entry and updates to personnel information and employee changes into K2’s timekeeping and expense software, payroll software including classification and pay, exemptions, benefit elections, deductions, paid time off, and all other system requirements Manage and schedule in-processing of new employees, to include documents completed through DocuSign’, Background checks, E-Verify, NC NewHire, Company Briefings, etc. Life cycle benefits administration (from eligibility and enrollment to, to ongoing requirements – such as monthly bill reconciliation – to separation) for all corporate benefits offered, to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-tern Disability , Long-term Disability, Life and Voluntary Life Insurance Communicate with public services and federal/state departments (Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Commission, etc.) in response to requests for information and ensure timely filing of all corporate certifications and required federal and state compliance paperwork Manage employee enrollment, contributions and requested changes to 401k plan Assist in the preparation of all federal and state wage reporting on a quarterly and annual basis; set up new state payroll tax accounts, including withholding and unemployment. Ensure compliance with overtime, HR federal laws and regulations, and related employee benefits across twenty-plus jurisdictions within the United States and its territories by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements. Assist with investigations related to HR complaints and personnel issues. Process documentation and prepare reports relating to performance evaluations Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and give actionable insights to improve employees’ experience Maintain a positive, confidential demeanor that promotes employee trust and open communication Support employees with efficient problem-solving when any human resources issues arise Review and initiate annual reviews with the Executive Staff to update the employee handbook and governing employee policies and ensure compliance with current regulatory requirements, if any Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures Review and select resumes during hiring processes and update database Assist in the coordination of staffing and recruitment processes Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employee orientation to deliver an exceptional early company experience Assist in tracking personnel leave requests, to include requested leave for Short-term and Long-term Disability, Military obligations, Bereavement leave and Worker’s comp claims Track anniversary dates, create and distribute salary increase forms for review on an annual basis for all employees Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster positive employer-employee relations Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to objectives as specified by the requesting department and approved by executive management Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data compiled Oversee the planning of quarterly and annual company-wide events Oversee the creation and distribution of a monthly company newsletter Perform other tasks as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company High level customer service skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information Proficiency in utilizing applications in the Microsoft 365 suite (to include sharepoint, excel, word, etc.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field At least one year of experience in labor relations and compliance At least one year of experience managing compensation and benefits programs 2+ years implementing tactics to improve performance management
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working for a multi-jurisdictional corporation Previous experience working for a company engaging in the business of federal contracting Previous experience working for a company that performs security-related services
