Job Description

HR Specialist, Records & Compliance 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars Greenville, NC 27835 JOB The HR Specialist, Records & Compliance is responsible for maintaining employee files and managing records in accordance with NC Records Retention Policy. In addition, this position manages the post onboarding for new employees to ensure all compliance are completed. Reports to the Director of Human Resources.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Responsible for creating and maintaining employee personnel records, physical and electronic, while ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible. Responsible for entering new employees into compliance training software and initiating new hire compliance modules; ensures completion and files training record in personnel file.

Tracks performance evaluation process for probationary period as well as annual evaluations. Responsible for verification of prior state service and updates employees Colleague records appropriately. Ensures new hire faculty have Faculty Credential Index completed with transcripts within 30 days of hire date.

Responsible for pulling files for exiting employees from active to term, ensuring all exit paperwork is completed, and maintaining inactive recordsManages Secondary Employment process ensuring all new employees complete and that annual forms are completedCompletes verification requests including but not limited to employment, Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), and faculty credential verification.

Oversees the retention and destruction of records per the NC Record and Retention scheduleAssists in coordinating employee events and performs other related duties.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of types of office and other equipment including computer, etc. Must be physically able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves mostly sedentary work, but involves walking, standing, reaching, or stooping for brief periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of approximately twenty pounds.
